Young Artist Initiative Unveils Complements & Dichotomies Exhibition at 1111 Lincoln

Miami Beach, FLA., Feb. 15, 2017 – Lincoln Road, the social and cultural spine of Miami Beach, will host the Young Artist Initiative’s (YAI) first exhibition of 2017 at 1111 Lincoln this February as part of its #OnLincoln series and its continual support of Miami’s growing art scene. Complements & Dichotomies will be unveiled February 23 and extend through February 25 on the seventh floor of 1111 Lincoln. The #OnLincoln series aims to elevate the destination beyond world-class shopping and dining, to one that is a haven for those seeking art, culture and design as well.

The Young Artist Initiative’s three-day exhibition will feature artwork, installations and activations that study the duality between function and aesthetic in art, architecture and design – a reflection on Lincoln Road’s reinvention through the arts. The exhibition will be fittingly set in 1111 Lincoln, the famed parking garage designed by Herzog and de Meuron, a Basel architecture firm that also specializes in museums. 1111 Lincoln offers dramatic views of the city and ocean, soaring 34 foot ceilings and is conveniently located in the heart of Lincoln Road.

“Lincoln Road is thrilled to be partnering with the Young Artist Initiative,” shares Ivannia Van Arman, executive director of the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District. “We are honored to support new and emerging artists as they help us celebrate Lincoln Road as a creative and cultural destination for Miami artists and residents.”

Complements & Dichotomies will take place during the following times:
” Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017: Private reception, invite only, 7-9:30pm
” Friday, Feb. 24, 2017: Ticketed event, 8pm-1am
” Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017: Public invited, 12-8pm

The official media partner for Complements & Dichotomies has been confirmed as Cultured Magazine, which brings readers the best from the worlds of contemporary art, design and architecture.
