Miami Beach, FLA., May 24, 2017 – Lincoln Road, in partnership with Lebo and ArtCenter/South Florida, is making it easier for visitors and guests to enjoy Miami Beach this summer, even without clear blue, sunny skies. Starting May and continuing throughout July, Lincoln Road invites visitors to enjoy a little “Raintertainment” and witness something spectacular. In a visual celebration of the written art form, Raining Poetry is an activation in which poem verses and accompanying graphics will be displayed on the streets of Lincoln Road via a special solution called Rainworks, which only becomes visible when it rains.

Raintertainment #onLincoln is brought to you by Lebo and ArtCenter/South Florida alumni Elysa D. Batista and AMLgMATD (Laz Ojalde & Natalie Zlamalova).

“Our mission is to continually elevate the Lincoln Road experience for everyone,” shares Ivannia Van Arman, executive director of the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District. “Lincoln Road’s Raining Poetry Activation will support the local arts community while also turning rainy days into something fun! We are creating an experience worth sharing despite the rain.”

There will be two separate Raintertainment series written by Elysa D. Batista. South Beach Fortune Cookies will be single-line aphorisms or prophecies pertaining to South Beach. Lincoln Road Haikus will follow the traditional Japanese format. Accompanying graphics, designed by Lebo and AMLgMATD’s Laz Ojalde & Natalie Zlamalova, will be added in throughout the road as well.

Rainworks solutions are completely non-toxic, environmentally safe, and biodegradable. On average, a Rainwork lasts two to four months and can be safely removed by applying an environmentally-friendly cleaner. The activation is currently scheduled to run through July 2017.
